Collaborate

There are many possible ways to get involved in the life of the land, with different focuses and opportunities opening and closing in rhythm with the seasons. From late summer to late autumn we open the space for personal residencies and volunteering focused on implementing new life supporting projects and systems on the land. In the coldest months of winter we close the space and focus on family and rest. From early Spring through to early summer we open for friends, group residencies and volunteering. In high summer we focus on private rentals and externally organised retreats and groups, which subsidise our work through the rest of the year. Throughout the year, Banana Mountain offers a space for young people and adults to co-create.

The categories below aim to provide a snapshot, not a definitive list. To express your interest in any of our offerings, find out more, or suggest something we have not yet imagined, click the button below and we will get back to you with next steps as soon as we can.

Collaborate

Volunteer

We host volunteers from September - December, involving them in agriculture, ecosystem restoration and land management, and maintenance and construction. We are looking for passionate, independent, and curious volunteers to join our project, share their wisdom, and work and learn alongside us.

Residencies

We host individual and group residencies for creative practitioners interested in working in dialogue with the land and/or who are looking for a peaceful, expansive environment to explore a personal project.

Host a process

We are open to sharing our space with like-minded folk who want to host collective processes, residencies and retreats. We are especially interested in supporting work which takes place in dialogue with the land and which might evolve into a sustained relationship.

Propose a Project

We are open to supporting passionate people to explore and experiment in dialogue with the land. If you have an idea you are seeking a supportive context to explore, please reach out and share your idea, how it might be relevant to the land, and how we can support this exploration.

Private Rentals

We welcome private rentals, especially for individuals and groups who are drawn to our project and wish to enjoy a holiday which makes a contribution to the material conditions of our developing ecosystem.

Democratic Education

Banana Mountain welcomes unschooled young people from 6 - 18, hosts creative residencies, and welcomes volunteers to support the development and maintenance of the site. To explore possibilities contact the Banana Mountain team directly.
